Participants from Western Young Peoples Independent Network WYPIN and Cultural Infusion came together at SYN to take part in intensive radio training workshops before starting their own show on SYN 90.7 FM. SYN runs tailored radio/media training programs to support youth organisations and community groups from migrant, refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds.
The Cultural Partnerships program offered 3 free scholarships to cultural groups or organisations working with young people aged 12-25 in 2014.
The FREE scholarship training package includes:
– Your own radio show LIVE on SYN Radio for a full SYN season
– Training in radio and media skills (Held in an intensive weekend format and formed in consultation with your group)
– Content Development Training and support.
– Complimentary SYN Memberships and support for a full year.

WYPIN is a youth-led organisation comprised of young people of diverse backgrounds based in the western region of Melbourne. WYPIN’s Committee of Management is comprised of 12-25 year old young people. At its core, WYPIN is a youth empowerment, youth advocacy group.
Cultural Infusion is dedicated to promoting equality, social justice and encouraging a broader understanding of culture across our community for the benefit of all. Over the past six years we have worked with diverse tools to enable the greatest number of people possible to experience vibrant cultural and inter-cultural arts and social initiatives.
